The Altar International House of Prayer is an intercessory
prayer ministry. It's a place where all Christians regardless of denomination or race can join together to pray for their
church, city, state, nation and other countries.
It is done in the style of the Tabernacle of
David. Our purpose to establish a place of twenty-four hour, seven day a week worship and prayer. It's our heart that we will
glorify God and bring about awakening and transformation to the body of Christ in this region and in our nation.
Part of the vision is to see the great commission
fulfilled as we pray for the Lord of the Harvest to send the laborers into the fields. We want to see this generation transformed
by the power and presence of the Lord.
Our heart is to touch the heart of God by worshipping
and focusing on Him. We believe that as we do this, God will answer our prayers because we are praying according to His will
and He loves His people and those with a heart that hunger after Him. We also want to see a passionate heart for the Lord
kindled in every believer.
When we come together for a session, we use the word
of God as our foundation for the prayers we pray. In each session we want to come into agreement with Him concerning the issues
of our world. There are different types of scripture we pray: Apostolic prayers (Ephs. 1:17-19, etc.),
Hymns of Revelation (Rev. 4: 8-11, Rev. 22:16-17, 20,
etc.), Theophanies, (revealing God to humans, Rev. 21:2-22:5, Isa. 6:1-9, etc.),
Psalms, (various subjects),
Gospel Ballads, (like the woman with the alabaster
box), and Song of Solomon,(intimacy with the Lord) just to name a few.
The term "Harp and Bowl" comes from Rev. 5:8-9........."Now
when He had taken the scroll, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each having
a harp, and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints. And they sang a new song"...
In each two hour session, we have a team that
is made up of musicians, singers, and intercessors from different churches. We follow a basic format and a predetermined focus
by the team for that session. The teams themselves pick the scriptures and music they want to do. They begin with about twenty
minutes of worship and then as the prayer leader or worship leader senses it's time, they begin to pray the scriptures they
have chosen for the focus of that session.
As the prayer leader prays short phrases, the
worship leader, singers, and musicians begin to respond with spontaneous songs and revelations that the Lord gives them. They
try to keep them to short thoughts and phrases and continue in this way until they feel they are done. This fosters participation
from every team member. This is called Antiphonal singing. Sometimes some of the songs that developed get turned into a chorus
that everyone begins to sing and declare.
At the end of each session we pray for the sick and
other requests of the people present in the room and those requests sent in to us. We also pray for a specific country, city,
or church each session. The team leading that session decides what country, city, or church to pray for. Using the scriptures
they pray for that focus. The microphone is usually open at sometime during the session for the people in the room to take
part and pray what God puts on their hearts concerning the focus.
We believe that Jesus sits at the right hand
of God making intercession for us. We are His Bride, His Beloved, and He will fight for us giving revelation and strategies
of how we are to silence our enemies.
